![]() His opposed schools are Enchantment and Transmutation. Being a Wizard this is by no means all he'll be doing but I thought it worth mentioning. The Wizard said he was wanting to focus mostly on Necromancy with a bit of blasting as a secondary focus. Aside from the very little healing I believe the Mesmerist will have there is none in the party, which is another reason I thought the Witch list might be good. ![]() The rest of the party consists of the Wizard with the Undead Master archetype, a Slayer with the Stygian Slayer archetype, a Mesmerist, and an Unchained Monk with the Sohei and MoMS archetypes. I've also been considering the Brown-Fur Transmuter, Occultist, and School Savant archetypes. I was planning to be more of a control/utility caster so that works with me, but I don't know how well the Witch spells support that. ![]() Given this, what would you recommend? How do the Witch and Sorcerer/Wizard spell lists compare?Īside from a focus on counterspelling (though likely via exploits rather than Wizard schools) and a great deal of crafting feats I have very little decided in the way of mechanics for this character. I have no problem with this and have been helping him with the character since he is largely new to Pathfinder, but it made me consider whether the trade off would be worth it given that there will be someone else with the Sorcerer/Wizard spell list. I normally wouldn't consider this since I am bias towards the Sorcerer/Wizard list (though with no real backing for this opinion hence this post), but in this campaign one of the other players will be a Wizard. So I'm playing an Arcanist for Kingmaker and am considering the Unlettered Arcanist archetype, which switches your spellbook for a familiar like that of the Witch and changes your spell list from the Sorcerer/Wizard list to the Witch list. *On mobile, so I apologize in advance for the lack of links and formatting. /r/3d6 - For character creation, advice and sharing (system agnostic)./r/Battlemaps - For your VTT battlemap requirements./r/Tabletop - For your general tabletop gaming shenanigans./r/lfg - Looking For Group, find other players, etc./r/RPG - For general, non-Pathfinder related RPG discussion./r/Starfinder_rpg - For dedicated discussion of Paizo's Science Fantasy system and setting./r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker - To discuss the Owlcat-made computer RPGs./r/Pathfinder2e - For dedicated Second Edition discussion./r/Pathfinder - For Pathfinder Society Organization/Discussion.Other subreddits you might be interested in: Fillable character sheets and intelligent character builders. Some of these tools and resources include the following: We have a Wiki page that includes links for various useful tools and resources, most of which have been provided by the members of this community.
